"HEY, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT NAME"?- I was working at WBZI radio in Xenia, Ohio in 1980 when our format flipped to country. I thought up "Mike McCoy" with Mike being my real first name. I messed up bad on the air one night, and my boss called and said "Jesus Christ, McCoy, what the heck is going on!" All I could think of is that I really like that name Jesus Christ McCoy. So I shortened it to JC McCoy and I have used it ever since.
